Teenager

Our kittens went for their first check-up today. They were remarkably comfortable. Maomao made straight for the sink in the exam room. She LOVES sinks.

Mukmuk copies her.

They set about exploring the small examination room, hopping from table to counter to floor. They were nice to the vet tech as well as the Dr.

The kitties are doing well. There were no surprises (always a good thing). We have more cold antibiotics for them as they're both still a little discharge-y. Lovely, isn't it? Then they will be ready for their vaccinations.

When we got Maomao, we got a little health booklet for her. Her approximate day of birth is Oct.14. She is approximately 14 weeks old.

Mukmuk is a bit smaller. When we got him last weekend, he was so little that we thought it'd be a good idea to purchase the kitten food for 0-4 months. Previously, we had inadvertantly purchased the next age group up. Maomao wasn't interested in 0-4 month kitten food, so she kept eating the next age group food, and Mukmuk the kitten food.

Upon examining Mukmuk's teeth, the Dr. said, "So it looks like he's about 5 and a half months old." He's WHAT?! "Yeah, see those teeth coming in? That's about 5 months. He's actually ready to be neutered." Good grief, you mean he could impregnate Maomao!??! We've mixed up their food?!?

That's right folks, Mukmuk is a little runt. I call him runty. He actually weighs close to Maomao but she looks a lot bigger. He's half way to full grown, and he's so small. I'm glad he's just going to be a little guy. I have a soft spot for little guys being a bit of a runty myself.

Here are our kitties cuddled together. They cuddled together for the first time yesterday. It's the start of a beautiful napping set-up...
